Convert your driver's license

Non-EU licenses are valid for 6 months after registration; then you must convert at the Führerscheinstelle (KVR). Depending on your country, tests may be required.

   Annex 11 countries convert without tests; others need theory and/or practical exams. Check before your 6 months run out.

2. 2Apply at the Führerscheinstelle (KVR)

   Book an appointment; bring your license with certified translation, passport, biometric photo and Meldebescheinigung. Fee ~€36–45 plus any tests.
